Cradlecrown v1.4: accounts, rankings and the Treasury
Sign in with Google or e-mail, a profile with your match stats, a ranking of the best online players and per-match names. The Treasury is also open: you can support the game with the Founder's Pack.
This is one of the biggest updates the game has had so far. You can now have an account, a profile and a place in the rankings. Accounts are optional: the game is still free, and you can keep playing without one.
Accounts
You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your e-mail. There are no passwords. You pick a username for your account, and nobody else can take the same one.
Profile and stats
There’s a new Profile tab in the menu. It shows your wins and losses and the civilizations you pick most often in each age. Stats from single-player matches are only visible to you.
Rankings
The new rankings screen lists the top 50 players by online win rate. You need at least 10 online matches to appear on it. Clicking a player’s name opens their mini profile.
Match names
You can join each match under your username or under a name you pick just for that match. When you play under your account’s own name, a verified mark shows up next to it.
The Treasury is open
The Treasury building I added to the menu in v1.2 finally does something: the Founder’s Pack is now available for anyone who wants to support the game. You choose the amount, starting at 3 USD, and the pack is added to your account as soon as the payment goes through. It includes:
- A founder title and portrait frame that go up with your total contribution: Citizen (3 USD), Caravaneer (5), Warden (10), Friend of the Treasury (25) and Treasurer (50).
- Your name in the Treasury ranking, if you want it there.
- 5 USD or more: a cosmetic DLC key when Cradlecrown comes to Steam. There’s no Steam date yet.
- 50 USD or more: your name in the game’s credits.
All rewards are cosmetic and give no advantage in matches. Polar handles the payment as merchant of record, and any tax that applies in your country is calculated on the checkout page.
